Building Stronger Communities Through Creative Partnerships

Danny Devine Studio believes meaningful arts education is built through relationships.

Since 2021, we have collaborated with schools, nonprofits, artists, businesses, cultural organizations, neighborhood groups, and community leaders throughout Pittsburgh to create programs that inspire creativity, strengthen communities, and expand access to the arts.

Together, these partnerships preserve Danny Devine's creative legacy while creating new opportunities for the next generation of artists, educators, and creative leaders.

Our Partnership Philosophy

Danny Devine Studio believes the strongest creative programs are built collaboratively—not delivered through a one-size-fits-all model.

Every school, nonprofit, neighborhood organization, and community partner has its own goals, challenges, and strengths. Rather than arriving with a predetermined curriculum, we begin by listening to the people we are serving and understanding what each partner hopes to accomplish.

Together, we develop programming that reflects each organization’s mission while drawing upon Danny Devine Studio’s experience in arts education, community engagement, public art, mentorship, and creative workforce development.

Whether we are leading a single workshop, developing a semester-long residency, creating a public mural, or introducing students to apparel production, our goal remains the same: to become a trusted creative partner invested in meaningful and lasting community impact.

Daily Bread

Danny Devine's relationship with Daily Bread began years before Danny Devine Studio was established. During his time with the shop, Danny created original hand-drawn artwork and contributed creatively while becoming part of a community that continues to celebrate local artists and independent makers.

Today, Daily Bread remains one of Danny Devine Studio's longest-standing collaborators. The shop serves as a year-round retail home for Danny Devine Studio clothing and prints while also partnering on exhibitions, annual birthday celebrations, educational programming, artist showcases, and community events that introduce new audiences to Danny's artwork and our mission.

New Sun Rising

In November 2022, Danny Devine Studio was approved for fiscal sponsorship through New Sun Rising, providing the organizational infrastructure needed to pursue grants, philanthropic funding, and long-term community initiatives.

Beyond fiscal sponsorship, New Sun Rising has become one of Danny Devine Studio's most valued collaborators. Through the leadership of Executive Director Scott Wolovich, the organization has provided strategic guidance, advocacy, mentorship, and introductions to educators, nonprofit leaders, arts organizations, and funding partners throughout the Pittsburgh region.

Light Education Initiative

Danny Devine Studio's partnership with the Light Education Initiative is built upon a shared belief that creative education can strengthen communities and create meaningful opportunities for young people.

In 2026, the Light Education Initiative funded Danny Devine Studio's collaborative mural project at Northgate High School, helping students work alongside professional artist Scott Brozovich to design and complete a permanent work of public art. As both organizations continue to grow, we look forward to expanding this relationship through future educational programming, artist residencies, community initiatives, and creative opportunities throughout Pittsburgh.
